Welcome to our collection. BoxedClassic grew up around our LEGO collection from the 1980s and 1990s and our model cars. The boxes are documented in our photographic archive — more under About. Part of the collection is slowly being let go; have a look at what has to move on.

The collection the archive grew out of
BoxedClassic began as a photographic archive of the boxes from our LEGO® collection — thousands of items, most of them from the golden era of the 1980s and 1990s. Besides LEGO we collect Formula 1 and other model cars, mainly in 1:43 and 1:18.
The larger sets of that period came in flap-lid boxes with a vacuum-formed inlay and the highlight pieces on display. Putting those sets back together is what started the archive: we needed to know how the pieces sat in the inlay. Every box is photographed front and back, sides, the opened flap and the inlay — and the back usually carries the alternative models the set could build.
As the collection grew, so did the need to thin it out. The shop is what that looks like: LEGO sets from 1980–1999 and model cars, out of one collection. The photographs always show the actual item, never a catalogue picture.
